"Hier ist kein warum" is (as I'm sure you know) German for "here there is no 'why'".  I was struck by a story of one of the transportees in the cattle trucks:  he told of how they had no food or water, and he reached out of the car to break off an icicle to suck. One of the guards struck it away  with his gun, and when he asked "Why", that is the answer he received.

Homage is also paid to Oklahoma City, Munich, The PanAm disaster, Vietnam, and a long-forgotten terrorist incident at Rome airport, where a little girl was killed.
